Abstract

926,877. Drying apparatus. H. C. ROTHERY. Dec. 31, 1959 [Oct. 8, 1958], No. 32050/58. Class 34 (2). Grain &c. to be dried is conveyed through housings 2, 4 by screw conveyers 1, 3 driven by a motor 5 and is dried in the housing 4 by hot air or gas from a manifold 10. The conveyers have different external diameters and the housings are separated by an end-plate (not shown). In addition to the heated air, an electric heating element or heated piping may be coiled around the housing 4 or the spindle of the conveyer 3 may be hollow for the passage of heated air.
