[Also in Group XVII] A reel for photographic printing paper is formed by attaching flange units to the core on which the paper is wound. A metal or fibreboard flange 14 is riveted to a spigot 17 having elastically deformable ribs 23 frictionally engaging the core 10. The ribs may be parallel to the spigot axis or of hemispherical form. The portion 17 of rubber may be bonded to an inner metal member 21 or the inner member may be made separately and inserted in the portion 17. An annular shoulder 22 spaces the flange from the core and facilitates rewinding.
