Abstract

926,534. Brush holders for dynamo-electric machines. SOC. GENEVOISE D'lNSTRUMENTS DE PHYSIQUE. Sept. 8, 1959 [Sept. 18, 1958], No. 30590/59. Class 35. [Also in Group XXXVI] In a slip-ring and bush-gear assembly wherein the brush 2 is surrounded by an insulating protecting sleeve 8, the sleeve is urged against the slip-ring 1 by a spring 9 independent of a spring 12 acting on the brush. The assembly shown is intended for an electromagnetic clutch housed in a casing A in which is screwed a sheath 3 in which the sleeve 8 is rectilinearly slidable under the guidance of a screw 10. Electrical connection from the brush 2 to an external conductor 5 is provided by a flexible conductor 13 and a terminal 4 clamped by a flexible conductor 13 and a terminal 4 clamped by a nut 7. In another embodiment the protecting sleeve 8 is replaced by one which is slidable outside the sheath 3.
