Abstract
926,071. Rotary oil burners. K. NAGAO. May 5, 1961 [May 23, 1960; Nov. 25, 1960], No. 16471/61. Class 75 (1). A rotary oil burner comprises a sliding sleeve 7 for controlling the primary air supply through a gap between the sleeve and a blow tube 11 surrounding the burner, a solenoid valve SV for controlling the flow of oil to the burner and a mechanism S actuated by a temperature or pressure gauge I for operating the sliding sleeve and energizing the solenoid valve SV. On a demand for heat the mechanism S energizes a relay R which energizes the solenoid valve SV and also an electromagnet M which is connected to the sleeve by a rod 10 and a bell crank 9. When the relay R is de-energized the burner burns at a rate determined by a pilot oil pipe 3 and the sleeve is moved by a spring 12 to reduce the primary air gap. The sliding sleeve 7 is mounted on a fixed tube 6 between adjustable limits and cannot protrude beyond the end of the blow tube 11. The air is supplied by a fan F. The burner includes a cup 5 mounted on the end of a tubular rotary shaft 4 through which oil passes to the cup. The oil may be controlled by a manual valve 8. In another embodiment the sleeve has an oblique groove in which a roller on the end of the operating mechanism engages and the oil is fed to the cup through the annular passage between the fixed tube 6 and the shaft of the cup and enters the cup through holes in its base.
