Abstract

925,814. Washing bed-pans. DENT & HELLYER Ltd. Dec. 29, 1961 [Sept. 30, 1960], No. 11158/60. Class 26. In a bed-pan washing apparatus, in which a pan is supported in a hopper 1 and flushed with a jet of water, the outlet 2 of the hopper is closable to allow the wash water to accumulate to the level required for the operation of an impeller 3 which completes the washing. In a cam-controlled washing sequence, as described in Specification 803,817, a cam 14 controls flap 6 through lever 11. The impeller 3 is electrically driven and an electric water heater 19 of high rating is provided. Reference is made to the use of a paddle wheel or pump instead of the impeller.
