Abstract

925,673. Collapsible tents. P. FRANKENSTEIN & SONS (MANCHESTER) Ltd. Feb. 26, 1962 [Dec. 3, 1960], No. 41656/60. Class 20 (1). A tent consists of a flexible ring or loop B having secured thereto an oval canopy panel C, crescent-shaped canopy end portions F and an oval ground sheet G. The ring B may be inserted into a pocket in the canopy or be secured thereto by tie tapes or flaps, the ring B being made from a length of inflatable highpressure fire hose whose ends are joined by a metal fitting A. The ring B may be replaced by a continuous tube of flexible impermeable fabric (see Specification 872,827), which is permanently attached to the panel C. Again, the ring B may be made up from sections of flexible cone, steel or plastic tubing and in the latter case a flexible plastic canopy may be bonded thereto. The pocket may be made by hemming the edge of the panel C or by providing the panel C with an inner skin D. The panel C may be made of nylon fabric coated with a synthetic rubber or plastic. The panels F may be secured to the ground sheet G by a slide-fastener M.
