Abstract

925,553. Screw fans. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Nov. 25, 1960 [Dec. 21, 1959], No. 43335/59. Class 110 (1). In an electric fan in which the fan body 2 can be oscillated by mechanism 6 about a pivot 17 carried by a member 9, the motor supply lead 15 runs through a channel formed in the member 9 coaxially with the pivot 17. The lead 15 is cleated at two widely-separated points 20, 21 only so that the torsional effect on the lead is distributed over a substantial free length of lead disposed along the pivotal axis. A slot 22 is cut in the member 9 to allow free movement of the adjacent substantially radially-extending part of the lead 15. Member 9 is adjustably pivoted at 11 to a base 1 and can be retained in seven alternative positions by a locking peg 14 engaging one of seven dimples in a side wall 10.
