Claw feed mechanism for cine camera comprises a crank-driven lever guided at one end in a slot, the ends of which lie on a line parallel to the path of film movement, and a second film-engaging lever pivoted to the first lever and guided in a path perpendicular to the direction of the film movement. As shown in Fig. 1, a claw 16 engaging perforations in the film 17, carries a pin 14 guided in a rectilinear slot 15 and is pivoted at 12 to a bell-crank lever 5, one end of which is pivoted at 4 to an eccentric of a driving shaft 2 (the eccentricity being denoted by r) while the other end carries a pin 6 guided in a slot 7 formed in a member 8 whose orientation for the purpose of adjusting the path of pin 6 is adjustable by means of screws 10, 11 bearing in a carrier member 9. In Fig. 2, A, B, C, D represents the locus of the driving eccentric 4, a, b, c, d the locus of the pivot 12, A‹, B‹, C‹, D‹ the locus of the pin 6 and a‹, b‹, c‹, d‹ the locus of the tip of the claw. The dashed positions correspond to a lowering of the guide member 8 by means of the screws 10, 11. If the sense of rotation of 2 is reversed, the claw movement is reversed so that film feed is possible in either direction. The slot 7 may be rectilinear as shown, or may be of arcuate shape as indicated by the curve D<SP>1</SP> A<SP>1</SP> B<SP>1</SP> in Fig. 4 in which particular ease the claw movement is reversed relative to that in Fig. 1 for the same direction of the driving shaft.
