Abstract

924,718. Counters. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 7, 1961 [June 21, 1960], No. 21746/60. Class 106 (1). A ring counter comprises an OR-gate 11 as a first stage and a succession 12-15 of 2-gates as later stages, each stage having a feed-back and being connected through a delay circuit 16-19 to the succeeding stage in the ring. The amount of delay is greater than the duration of each counting pulse so that a build-up of conducting stages occurs until all are conducting. At this point, transfer to the next denomination occurs together with cut-off of all stages through an inhibiting lead 20 connected to the first stage. The inhibiting lead 20 may be connected to all stages, Fig. 2, to make cut-off very rapid. Alternatively, Fig. 3, an additional feed-back may keep the last stage 15 conducting until it is cut-off by a cancel pulse.
