Abstract

889,817. Relay circuits. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 10, 1960 [Nov. 26, 1959], No. 40235/59. Class 40 (4). The operating and release times of relay R are governed by a shunt condenser C which charges through resistance R1 and discharges through resistance R2. As shown, with R normally operated, when relay P energizes in response to impulses, e.g. dialling impulses, assuming that R1 has a high value and R2 a low value, R releases at the first impulse and remains released until the end of the train. Alternatively, if contact p is normally in the alternate position so that R is unoperated, it may be arranged that R operates at the first impulse and remains operated throughout the train by giving R1 a low value and R2 a high value.
