924,011. Mobile scaffolding. J. M. EITEL. March 15, 1960, No. 9177/60. Class 20 (2). In a vehicle incorporating an extensible, basket-carrying boom 16 mounted for rotation about a vertical axis and for pivotal movement about a horizontal axis, the roof of the vehicle is recessed at 28a to accommodate the boom and is apertured at 54 to allow positioning of the basket 18 adjacent the driver's seat, the roof of the vehicle being supported by a post 64. One side of the basket is pivotally journalled on a shaft projecting from one side of the boom, dash-pot means being provided to prevent undue swinging of the basket (see Fig. 7, not shown). The basket may be mounted externally of a driver's cab having a door adapted to provide communication therewith (see Figs: 8, 12 and 13, not shown). In another modification, Fig. 9 (not shown), the aperture in the roof instead of being closed by a removable canvas cover as in the first embodiment is closed by a sliding panel. Again, the basket may be mounted adjacent a cab permanently open on one side and rest on a resilient bumper mounted on the hood of the vehicle (see Figs. 10 and 11, not shown). U.S.A.
