Abstract

A spinning mix comprises a linear polyolefin (such as polypropylene), a polymer of a vinyl pyridine (such as poly-2-vinylpyridine), and an antioxidant for the polyolefin and/or a U.V. light absorbent. Specified antioxidants are phenols, oximes, organic sulphur compounds and condensation products of amines with dihalogen compounds; specified U.V. light absorbents are triazoles and benzophenones. Fibres, multi-filaments and yarns having improved affinity to acid and metallized dyes, may be obtained. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 879,198.
