Abstract

922,987. Seed depositing tools. E. EARNSHAW. May 23, 1961 [Feb. 24, 1960], No. 6429/60. Class 6(2). A seed depositing tool comprises spring urged members 12, 14 and a hopper 10. The tool is pressed into the ground to depress the members 12, 14 so that a seed passes from the hopper 10 into an opening 30a in member 12 and through an opening 38 in member 14 to the inside of member 14 where it falls to the ground through an opening 43. A snout 40 is surrounded by a spring-urged bush 44 so that when the tool is pressed into the ground the snout 40 projects through the bush 44 and makes a small indentation in the soil.
