Abstract

922,253. Road vehicle suspensions. ARMSTRONG PATENTS CO. Ltd. Dec. 8, 1961 [Dec. 22, 1960], No. 44179/60. Class 108(2). In a suspension system for a vehicle wherein each of a pair of wheels is supported by a pair of mounting members 12 and 13 and a hydropneumatic spring device 10 acting through an arm 16 and ball ended push rod 18, each device 10 is mounted by a bracket 20 upon the chassis frame 22 and the two devices 10 are rigidly connected together by a tube 24. The cupola shaped ends of the devices 10 may be directed inwardly or outwardly. In a modification, Figs. 6 and 7, (not shown) a rigid axle 26 is mounted at each side by a pair of members 30 pivoted at 28 to the axle and at 32 to the frame 22, hydropneumatic devices 10 being connected to the axle by push rods 18 and a rod 34 locating the axle transversely, the devices 10 being mounted on the frame 22 by brackets 21 and being rigidly interconnected by a tube 25.
