Abstract

921,548. Clamp fastenings. GEBRUDER HAPPICH G.m.b.H. Nov. 11, 1959 [Nov. 12, 1958], No. 38286/59. Class 44. A glare shield is pivotally mounted in a vehicle by a U-shaped clamp 5, Figs. 1, 3, which embraces, and is spot welded to, framework members 2, 3, 4 of the shield and carries a U- shaped spring nut and screw fastening means. The nut, which, with the clamp 5, may be applied to the shield for left- or right-hand mounting in the vehicle comprises opposed screw-engaging holes 16, 19, Fig. 4, the latter being formed with a female thread, and a cutaway crown surface 14 which engages a luglike projection 13 on the crown part 6<SP>1</SP> of the clamp 5. The screw 17 has a countersunk head engaging a socket 23 and when applied to the nut, which has stamped-out clamp engaging projecting lugs 21, 22, causes the latter to tightly embrace the clamp 5.
