Abstract
921,491. Measuring α-radiation. NUCLEAR POWER PLANT CO. Ltd. Nov. 30, 1960 [Dec. 7, 1959], No. 41530/59. Class 40 (3). The α-activity of a gas is measured by passing the gas between phosphor coated transparent sheets 1-5, Fig. 1. Scintillations are trapped in the sheets by internal reflection and escape only from ends A to a photomultiplier 7. To improve light collection ends A may be formed convex and all other edges silvered.
