868,051. Scintillation counters. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 4, 1960 [March 7, 1959], No. 7761/60. Class 39(1). A scintillation-counter crystal unit comprises a moisture tight metallic holder 3, a transparent plate 7 closing the holder, a crystal 1, and a pulverulent light-reflecting layer 15 situated in the space between the crystal and the holder, the face of the crystal being held against the transparent plate 7 by means of a flange 17 provided on the crystal. As shown, the flange 17 is urged against the plate 7 by an edge 18 of the holder 3, a protective filling ring 19 being provided.
