[Also in Divisions C4 and G6] A silver-activated glass has a base of metaphosphates for use in dosimeters which are responsive to X-rays, #-rays and thermal neutrons and consists essentially by weight of: 8.6 to 44.2% LiPO 3 ; 8À7 to 44À1% Be(PO 3 ) 2 ; 0 to 25% NaPO 3 ; 4.7 to 44% A1(P0 3 ) 3 ; 2.4 to 15% AgPO 3 , and is characterized in that the lithium is enriched in isotope 7 with respect to natural lithium. A glass in which the sensitivity to thermal neutrons is identical with the sensitivity to X-rays or #-rays has the following composition by weight: LiPO 3 : 31À2% ; Be(PO 3 ) 2 : 9À4%; NaPO 3 : 20À8%; Al(PO 3 ) 3 : 34À4%; AgPO 3 : 4À2% and is characterized in that the proportion of lithium-6 contained in the lithium is 2À1%. The glass is further characterized in that the relative proportions of natural lithium and lithium enriched to 99-75% in isotope 7 are respectively 0À665% and 1.855% with respect to the total composition of the glass.
