Abstract

921,098. Sanitary mattresses. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. Dec. 21, 1959 [Jan. 1, 1959], No. 14/59. Classes 52 (2) and 52 (4). A hospital mattress has a flat base on which are situated a plurality of regularly spaced projections 1 spaced 7 to 10 to the inch and surrounded by a rim 2 of height approximately equal to that of the projections. In a modification some of the projections are removed to form channels to the rim, and at the rim there is a small aperture through which passes a tubulure with a closely fitting flange at the top and a thickened lower part. A system of lugs and holes outside the rim allows two mattresses to be joined together.
