Abstract

919,417. Supporting cables and conduits. CAMLOC FASTENER CORPORATION. Oct. 7, 1959, No. 33928/59. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] A clamp for detachably supporting a wire or the like comprises a base 10 having a raised platform 12 and being adapted to be secured to a fixed structure, a cover section 11 hinged to the base at one end thereof and provided with a quick release stud 33 for securing the cover 11 to the platform 12, the stud terminating between the platform and the base, the base and the cover being provided (in the closed condition of the clamp) with wire receiving channels 19, 31 located adjacent the hinge axis of the base and cover. As shown, the stud 33 has a crosspin 34 at its lower end which co-operates with the ramps 35 formed in the raised platform 12 and is prevented from unlocking by detents in the ramps. A resilient support 23 is held in the base section 10 and has upwardly extending ears 30 which are received on a pivot pin 20, this pivot pin serving as a hinge for the base 10 and cover section 11 and also for a second resilient support having ears 39. Both supports have generally kidney shaped end elevations, the wire being clamped between the surfaces 26 and 38. In a modification, the resilient supports are not attached to the hinge pin 20 but have bendable ears 49 which are bent round the channels in the base and cover portions, the supports being located by slots 56 which receive the bendable ears 49.
