919,315. Step-by-step conveyers. HERMAN PNEUMATIC MACHINE CO. Sept. 25, 1959 [Feb. 2, 1959], No. 32639/59. Class 78 (1). A shuttle beam structure in a foundry moulding and casting apparatus comprises a base 70, a work-supporting beam 39a and shiftable connections including wedge means between said base and said beam, and an intermediate member 73 connected to the beam and effective upon movement to raise and lower said beam generally vertically, means being provided to advance said work-supporting beam and the intermediate member together generally horizontally between the vertical raising and lowering operations. Moulding flasks are received in saddles 40-43 supported by inverted U-beams 39a, arranged in parallel and one only being shown in the Figures, which may be raised vertically by a piston 87 in a cylinder 84 moving the intermediate member 73 carrying inclined plates 76 up which rollers 77 on the beam 39a ride. In the elevated position the assembly is moved horizontally by a piston 81 in cylinder 78, and the saddles are then lowered by reverse movement of the piston 87, the rollers 77 rolling down the plates 76. The subject matter of the Specification is identical with that of Specification 919,314 which is referred to.
