A disc brake has automatic wear adjustment mechanism similar to that described in the parent Specification, but the annular member, which serves to prevent the return of the piston P, contains a plurality of resilient washers in stacked relationship, each washer having an internal diameter slightly smaller than the diameter of the piston and an internal circumference which is broken at intervals in order to form teeth d for engaging and arresting the piston. The washers are preferably of thin sheet metal.
