[Also in Group XVII] The homing head of a guided missile is mounted in a carriage 14 sliding in guides 17 mounted on a welded tubular structure 13 having resilient projections 18 by which the structure is secured in corrugations 11a of an oil drum 11. Locking members 14b secure the carriage at its inward position. The drum is enclosed in a wooden crate 10 and cushioned by pads 10a, 10c of rubberized hair. The top 12a of the drum is hermetically sealed by an 0-ring seal and a locking band 19. A breather device 21 is provided to overcome the problem of pressure differentials arising during air transportation and may include a desiccating agent, visible from outside the container, to indicate the state of the interior.
