Abstract

917,663. Corrugating sheet material. NEGRI SCATOLE S.p.A. Nov. 10, 1959, No. 38049/59. Class 141. In a machine for asymmetrically corrugating cardboard &c. comprising interengaging members 18, 31 spaced along two belts 10, 22, respectively, each supported by two pulleys, the straight belt portions 16, 27 are arranged at an angle A with respect to each other. The members 31 are disposed at an angle to the belt portion 27 so that they are coplanar with the cooperating cavities 20. To produce asymmetrical corrugations, i.e. alternate large and small radius bends, the members 31 are thin and elongated whereas the members 18 have broad rounded ends. In a modification, the belts are replaced by caterpillar structures and the members 18 consist of cylindrical rods. The corrugated strip is subsequently secured to a flat base strip.
