Abstract
916,766. Two-part couplings; distribution boxes; cut-outs. TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. June 26, 1959 [March 20, 1959], No. 22039/59. Class 38 (1). A contact assembly for a plug-in type junction-box, as described in Specification 916,765, comprises a pair of flat strips 6 arranged face-to-face in a rectangular cavity 2c in an insulating block 2 and having outwardly-turned ends 6a, 6b, the strips being pressed together by leaf-springs 8, the central portions of which engage the walls of the cavity and the ends of which engage the strips in the angles formed by the ends 6a, 6b. The strips are retained in the cavity, with the ends 6a held in abutment with cross-pieces 2d of the block 2, by hooks 8e on the leaf-springs which engage recesses 2e in the cavity walls. Several cavities are formed in the block 2 to receive contact assemblies as above, the walls of the cavities extending beyond the ends 6b of the strips and being slotted at 2f to receive the co-operating conductors 7.
