[Also in Group XXXVI] A method of masking a printed circuit comprises applying over the surface thereof a lacquer comprising an epichlorhydrin-diphenylpropane type epoxy resin and a polyamide or amine curing agent therefor, whilst leaving marginal portions of the circuit exposed where soldered connections are to be made. The lacquer may be formulated as a screen printing ink, and the epoxy resin component may include an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, and uncoated calcium carbonate for transparent or translucent ink, Rutile for white ink, or scarlet chrome for red ink. The polyamide resin component may include an amide of polymerized linoleic acid, melamine-formaldehyde resin solution in butanol, and diethylene glycol monobutyl ether. Solder is then applied to the whole surface to adhere only where the lacquer is absent.
