Abstract
915,023. Chain hoist pulley blocks. KING Ltd., GEO. W. June 15, 1960 [June 24, 1959], No. 21738/59. Class 78 (5). The chain sprocket 10 of an electrically-driven chain hoist pulley block is made readily detachable from the block by forming the sprocket with a boss on each side, one boss 18a being fitted into a bearing member 19 on the side of the block to which the motor 12 is detachably secured and the other boss 17 being splined to engage gearing driven by the motor shaft 11 which extends freely through the sprocket bore. The bearing member 19 is clamped between the block frame 25b and the motor frame 23 and incorporates both the sprocket bearing 18 and a separate bearing 20 for the motor shaft. The gearing comprises the wheels 13, 14, 15, 16, the first of which is splined to engage the motor shaft and the last splined to engage the sprocket boss 17, the whole gear train being permanently mounted in the block as shown.
