Abstract
914,910. Forming glass fibres. INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CO. ESTABLISHMENT. Feb. 25, 1959 [Feb. 28, 1958], No. 6620/59. Class 56. Molten fibre-forming material is fed, as from a member 5, on to the interior of a rotating distributer 1 having a frusto-conical part 2, from the larger end of which it is discharged on to a fibre-forming device such as a centrifugal device comprising a disc 10 with rim 13. The distributer may comprise a second frusto conical part 3 running on rollers 4. The part 2 may be heated externally, the part 3 cooled by water jets directed on to it internally. In another form the axis of the distributer is vertical and fibre-forming devices in the form of stepped discs are grouped around it on parallel axes of rotation.
