A transducer for playing-back magnetic records comprises the use of a Hall plate in the gap of the magnetic head, employing a highfrequency control current for modulating the said signals, and applying said modulated signals to the input of a radio set or to the intermediate frequency stage thereof. The head may be used for normal recording by the use of coils in the normal way.
