Abstract
912,086. Telescopic pipes. RIGHTON & SONS Ltd. Aug. 25, 1959 [Aug. 25, 1958], No.27227/58. Class 99(2). A flue adaptor comprises two telescopically slidable metal, tube sections 1, 2, the free end of the section 1 being adapted to be secured to or to fit the end of a flue pipe and the section 2 being adapted to fit the flue aperture of an appliance. The inner end of the inner tube section is formed with an outwardly and reversely extending flange 3 and the inner end of the outer tube section 2 is provided with an inwardly and reversely extending flange 4, the flanges being so arranged that the flange of one tube section will fit between the flange and the opposed surface of the other tube section when the two sections are in the fully extended position. There are securing means, such as screws 8 passing through a collar 5, which urge the flange 3 of the section 1 towards the inner tube section to engage the flange 4 of the outer tube section 2 and to hold the sections in the extended position thereof.
