Abstract

911,150. Shelving. MEYNELL, G. W. March 21, 1961 [Feb. 9, 1960; Jan. 7, 1961], Nos. 4480/60 and 756/61. Class 52 (1). Removable shelves are supported on uprights formed by two angle section members with faces 301, 303 and 302, 304 arranged so that corresponding faces are parallel to, spaced from and facing one another, adjacent edges at the top and bottom being joined by welded strips of metal and rods 32 joining the two members and providing means on which the shelf supports may be hooked. Single or double reinforcing plates 33 may also join the angle members perpendicularly to the rods 32. The hangers 34 may have a single slot 342 or several slots, a finer adjustment of position being obtained in the latter case. The hangers 34 may carry a V.shaped member 344 in which the feet 351 of pallets 35 rest (Fig. 14), or a socket into which the cranked ends of members interconnecting the uprights may be engaged. A shelf may have hanger portions 34 fixed at each corner so that it may be hooked on to the uprights. The structure may be enclosed, to form bins, by side panels 40 with slotted brackets 401 and back panels 39 with slotted brackets 391 passing through corresponding slots on the edge of panel 39, the brackets 391, 401 engaging rods 32 in the uprights.
