Abstract

910,792. Hinges and pivots. VICKERS-ARMSTRONGS (AIRCRAFT) Ltd. Nov. 7, 1960 [Nov. 20, 1959], No. 39555/59. Class 65 (2). [Also in Group XXXIII] In an aeroplane having wings adjustable in sweep, each wing pivot comprises an annulus 10 fixed at points 111, 112 to the aeroplane body 11 and mounted by the wing root 14. The root 14 has hemispherical shoes 15 arranged in opposed pairs to embrace, and slide, on annulus 10, the shoe seating in comformably shaped recesses in root 14. Opposed sets of rollers 16 mounted in root 14 positively locate the wing relative to the pivot axis 12. Specifications 832,760 is referred to.
