Abstract
Melamine is prepared by heating urea and/or one or more pyrolysis products thereof in the presence of NH3 and a catalyst, the reactants being first supplied to one or more fluidized catalyst beds in which the catalyst is maintained in the fluidized state by NH3, and the resulting vapours being passed from the fluidized bed or beds through a fixed catalyst bed or beds. Specifications 718,934 and 767,344 are referred to.
