Abstract

909,460. Travelling wave tubes. AVIATION, MINISTER OF. Nov. 13, 1957 [Nov. 19, 1956], No. 35277/56. Class 39 (1). A discharge tube, such as a " Carcinotron " (Registered Trade Mark), having a massive electrode is provided with an auxiliary heater for this electrode to reduce the warming-up period required to reach steady working conditions. The sole electrode 21 of an M-carcinotron contains a heater 30 which is switched off automatically when a given temperature is reached or after a given time interval: The tube comprises cathode 24, grid 25, anode 26, interdigital delay line 18, 20 and output conductor 28. Specification 699,893 is referred to.
