Abstract

908,142. Trench Shoring. JOHNSTON BROS. (CONTRACTORS) Ltd., and BONE, A. B. Dec. 10, 1959 [Nov. 11, 1958], No. 36281/58. Addition to 762,481. Class 20 (2). Shoring is applied to the sides of trenches by horizontal bars braced apart by turnbuckles 20 and supported on skids 21 or on the walings of the trench shoring. Further bars 12 are supported by struts 25. The bars are pivotally connected to a front frame consisting of vertical bars 13 connected by turnbuckles 14 and adapted to be towed along the trench by chains 27 as vertical shoring timbers are dropped between the side of the trench and the bent front ends of the bars 11, 12. Shoring walings are supported on the bars while being secured in position. The turnbuckles 20 and skids 21 operate against compression springs. Specification 901,065 also is referred to.
