Abstract

907,994. Etching. BEKK & KAULEN CHEMISCHE FABRIK G.m.b.H. May 27, 1960 [June 10, 1959], No. 18869/60. Class 100 (2). In the copper plate printing process in which plates are coated, exposed, developed and etched a plurality of plates are simultaneously subjected to the process whilst being held rigidly together as a unit. As shown, curved printing plates are fastened on axially apertured cylindrical members 1, 2, 3 which are secured to one another by mounting on a hollow spindle 5 and applying nuts 6 against washers 7. Collars 4 are applied intermediate the members 1, 2, 3 the joints between the collars and members being covered by a film 8 of synthetic plastic. To assist by vacuum the mounting on the coated unit of the picture patterns the collars 4 have holes 10 through each of which extends a connecting piece 11 with hose 12 the ends of which are applied to the edges of the associated patterns. The air is exhausted through the spindle bore 9. The members 1, 2, 3 may be of different diameters in which case the collars 4 are made to suit.
