[Also in Group I] A sieve box 17 which may be used in separating solids from liquids, is supported on a stationary base frame 16 by circumferentially spaced springs 18, and is given a progressively tilting and circular motion by a motor 55 which drives a shaft 57 supported in axially aligned bearings in a casing 60 vertically adjustable in a clamp 62 secured to the frame. An eccentric connection, the eccentricity of which is selectively variable, is provided between the top of the drive shaft and a selfaligning bearing 64 adjustably positioned within a housing 63 depending from the sieve box. The cylindrical portion 66 of the shaft extending within the bearing is eccentric to the shaft and is surrounded by a collar 72 slidably and rotatably adjustable thereon, the collar having an eccentric cylindrical surface 74. A key 78 on the portion 66 engages the desired one of a number of grooves 75 in the collar to vary the eccentricity of the drive connection. The edges of the screen 48 are secured between the flanges of the cylindrical upper and lower portions of the box, and the screen centre is held by a nut and bolt 50. Material fed to the box flows from the centre outwardly, and discharge duets 45 and 36 are provided. Several box sections may be superposed. In the modification of Figs. 6, 7, 9 and 10, the top end 126 of the drive shaft 112 is coaxial with the shaft, and the eccentric connection consists of inner and outer sleeves 129, 130 around the shaft, their cylindrical outer surfaces being eccentrically arranged relative their inner cylindrical surfaces. The sleeves rotate with the shaft, and adjustment of the eccentric connection between the shaft and the selfaligning bearing 127 is effected by turning the sleeves relative to one another. For the latter purpose the sleeves have opposed flanges 135, 142, Fig. 9, with teeth 143, 144 engaged by a pinion gear 150 on a shaft 151 mounted in bearings in a bracket carried by an assembly 155 which rotates with the shaft. The pinion gear is rotated to the desired position and locked therein by a set screw 151b. The drive shaft is supported in bearings in a sleeve wall 109 adjustably clamped in a wall 104 supported by radial members 107 extending from the fixed frame. The shaft is driven from a pulley 121, and in order to control the vibrations imparted to the sieve box by the shaft an assembly 155 comprising an eccentric weight within covers 169, 170 rotates with the shaft. The eccentricity of the weight is adjustable. The weight comprises a frame 158 with openings filled with heavy material, e.g. lead, and is slidably related to a block 163 keyed to the shaft and is held in the desired position by a bolt 174. A similar assembly 180, but of small size, is provided on the drive shaft to prevent or reduce vibrations being imparted to the stationary frame.
