Abstract

1,229,552. Screening apparatus. STEIN INDUSTRIE. 7 Feb., 1969 [9 Feb., 1968], No. 6843/69. Heading B2H. A screening apparatus has a rotatable cylindrical drum 1, a frame 9 suspended within the drum, a vibration generator 12 attached to the frame and screens 10 supported on the frame forming the faces of a prism co-axial with the drum. The drum 1 is mounted on pneumatic tyres 2 which are driven by a motor 4 through a reduction gear 3. A flange 6 and friction rollers 7 prevent axial movement of the drum on the tyres. The vibrator, consisting of a motor 12 with eccentric weights 13, 14 is mounted on cross-members 9a of the frame. The screens 10 are attached to adjustable hooked bolts 11a on the frame by hooks 10a. To prevent vibrations being transmitted from the frame to the drum, the frame is suspended within the drum by springs 8. Unscreened material is fed to the screens at 15a and is moved axially, either by the drum being slightly tilted or by unbalancing the weights of the vibrator to give biassed vibrations, over the screen to be delivered into two chutes 16, 17, as the product fractions.
