Abstract

906,210. Mobile lighting installations. HARLEY, M. C. July 4, 1961 [July 6, 1960], No. 23586/60. Class 75 (4). A mobile lighting installation embodying a self-contained source of electric power for the lamps comprises a vehicle, e.g. a trailer, on which a superstructure is mounted having a mast-like structure h for supporting the lamps g pivotally mounted thereon, a winch k for elevating the structure h and a series of platforms c, d (not shown), e, f on which the operator may stand to adjust the lamps. The structure h consists of two parallel masts connected by cross-members, the lower of which is connected to the cable j of the winch and on the upper of which four lamps g are mounted side-by-side. Two poles carrying red warning lamps o may also be fixed to the structure h. The trailer causes two petrol-engine or similarly-driven generators for the power supply to the lamps. During towing of the trailer, the structure h is lowered to rest on a support m, being held in place by clamps n. An additional lamp giving an all-round light may be mounted on the structure. In place of a trailer, the superstructure may be mounted on a self-propelled truck.
