Abstract
905,837. Current measurement. WAYNE KERR LABORATORIES Ltd., and CALVERT, R. March 3, 1961 [Jan. 14, 1960], No. 1364/60. Class 37. A small current to be measured is applied to terminals 10, 11, Fig. 1, and charges a capacitor 12 which is periodically discharged by a switch 13 operated by a timer 14. The voltage across the capacitor is measured by a device including a vibrating capacitor 20, 21, 22 and amplifierrectifier 26, 28 more particularly described in Specification 883,859. In a further embodiment the rectified output of stage 28, Fig. 2, is applied to a comparator 35 which delivers an output control signal when the voltage from amplifier 26 reaches a given level. The timer 14 measures the time interval between the successive control signals from comparator 35. These time intervals are indicated on a device 38; whose indications are inversely proportional to the current flow charging the capacitor 12.
