Abstract

905,763. Lamp-holders. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 7, 1961 [April 5, 1960], No. 12075/60. Class 38 (1). A batten type lamp-holder comprises a moulded plastics base part split into two identical halves 1, 2, which may be secured about a lamp-holder part 9. Each half 1, 2 has an integral boss 7, 8, with ridges 10, 11, which engage in channel 12 of part 9, lugs such as 13 ensuring correct angular location of the part 9. The two halves 1, 2 may be locked together by a ring 16, having lugs 17, 18, engaging in sockets 19, 20 of the base halves and having holes for mounting screws. Alternatively mating projections and recesses in the two halves may be bored to receive fixing screws which unite the lampholder assembly and secure it to a wall or ceiling. Connecting wires (not shown) for the terminals may be probed through portions of the base walls 3, 4, of reduced thickness, while a third metal terminal 14 may be located in a grooved recess 15 of a base wall.
