Abstract

905,203. Switch cases. WALSALL CONDUITS Ltd. March 6, 1961 [March 24, 1960; June 24, 1960], Nos. 10401/60 and 22116/60. Class 38 (5). In a switch assembly similar to that of Specification 758,963, an insulating platform 9 carrying a switch is supported on projections 8 on the base 2, the platform being a close sliding fit in a cylindrical part 3 of the base and being clamped against the projections by removable means. In one form, Fig. 1, these means are provided by a skirt-like projection 22 on the cover 1, the projection 22 bearing on a compressible washer 24 and being a close sliding fit within the part 3 of the base in order to make the assembly flameproof. In another form, Fig. 4, the platform is clamped by a spring 39 engaging in a semicircular section groove 38 in the part 3, or the spring may merely be an auxiliary device for holding the platform when the cover is removed. The assembly is made watertight by a sealing washer 21 clamped between a cover flange 18 and the end of part 3.
