Apparatus controlling the temperature of a room having a plurality of heat exchangers comprises servo-controlled valves controlling the flow through the exchangers in which one exchanger is provided with a regulating valve responsive to room temperature and the valves of the other exchangers are actuated in response to the regulating valve. The regulating valve 9 comprises a gate valve member 11 controlling the flow through passage 19 to the exchanger, the valve being connected to a diaphragm 26. A temperature-sensitive element 10 controls the position of a double control valve member 24 which controls leakage of fluid from a high-pressure chamber 17 to a chamber 22, the chamber 17 being fed from the passage 19 upstream of a Venturi-shaped section of this passage. The valve control members 13 of the other heat-exchangers comprise a movable valve member 15 secured to a diaphragm 18 which forms a chamber 14 connected by a line 16 to the high-pressure chamber 17, thus when the valve 11 is closed due to the pressure in chamber 17 so will the valves 15 close. The double valve member 24 provides control when either heating or cooling medium is being passed through the exchanger and the changeover from heating to cooling or vice versa is effected automatically by a known device provided in the regulating valve 9.
