Abstract

904,134. Making valves. DEWRANCE & CO. Ltd. March 30, 1961 [April 4, 1960], No. 11635/61. Class 83 (2). A method of making a globe valve body comprises forging a central portion 1 to form an open-ended cavity 4, 5 on each side of a valve seating wall 7 and circumferentially welding connection pieces 2, 3 to the respective ends of the portion. A flange 10 is welded to the portion 1 and annular grooves 12, 13 and 14, are machined prior to welding. The body is drilled at 11 and through the seating wall 7 to accept a valve and spindle assembly (not shown).
