Abstract
904,095. Magnetic recording &c. heads; supporting. TOKYO DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA, and HOSHINO, Y. May 19, 1960 [May 19, 1959; June 6, 1959 (2); June 13, 1959], No. 17775/60. Class 40 (2). A head support for a magnetic sheet recorder such as in Specification 850,291, has two independent means resiliently urging the head towards the record. The head 1, potted into a lightweight screening cap 4 with a stalk 5 is mounted by two cantilever springs 7, 7<SP>1</SP> from a bracket 6, this support having a sufficiently low inertia to follow small but rapidly-varying imperfections in the record surface 20. The bracket 6 is in turn mounted on a member 12, arranged to slide between tongues 13 secured to the recorder turn-table 11, a cam arrangement 23, 25 acting to withdraw the head periodically from contact with the record as required by the operation of the machine. Other forms of the springs 7 are described (Figs. 5-8, not shown), and dust covers 33, 36 Fig. 11 (see also Figs. 12-15, not shown), may protect the slides from abrasive dust falling from the record.
