Abstract
850,028. Magnetic recording machines. TOKYO DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHA, and HOSHINO, Y. Jan. 2, 1958, No. 222/58. Class 40 (2). A magnetic head mounting providing freedom of movement in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the record medium comprises a box 2 in which the head 1 is mounted. One end of the box has a V-slot 2<SP>1</SP> which co-operates with a similar slot 4<SP>1</SP> in a post 4 to form a guide groove for two balls 6 which are spaced apart by a plate 12. The other end of the box 2 has a V-slot 2<SP>111</SP> co-operating with a slot 8<SP>1</SP> in a block 8 to form a guide groove for the ball 6<SP>1</SP>, positioned by the plate 12<SP>1</SP>. The block 8 slides in a slot in a second post 411 and a spring 7 acts on a ball 9 to keep the block 8 pressed towards the head block. The two posts 4 and 411 are mounted on a baseplate 5 carrying a cup-ended screw 11 which locates one end of a spring 10, the other end of which bears against the block 2.
