Abstract

830,776. Magnetic sound-film apparatus. AGFA A.G. Nov. 4, 1958 [Nov. 13, 1957], No. 35405/58. Class 40 (2). In a sound and picture film apparatus a film guide plate is provided having apertures in which magnetic record heads are movably arranged for resilient contact with the film, and means are provided for supporting and urging the film against the said guide-plate, Both the said guide-plate and the supporting means are mounted on a plate 12 as a unit. The guide-plate 14 is secured to an intermediate plate 13 carrying a spring-loaded arm 16 on which is mounted a record/reproduce head 17, the pole tips of which normally protrude through an aperture 21 in the plate 14. A further spring-loaded arm 18 on the arm 16 carries an eraze head 20 which normally protrudes through an aperture 22 in the plate 14. The said supporting means comprises an angular carrier 30 on which is mounted a spring-loaded pressure-plate 28. The carrier 30 is raised into the operative position by rods 31, 32 thereon by spring-loaded levers 38, 39, respectively, pivoted on rods 40, 41 on the plate 12 and acted upon by levers 47, 48 coupled together by a link 55 and. moved into the operative position by a lever 61 under the control of a push-button 58. In the operative position a pressure roller 33 carried by the rod 32 presses the film against a part 23 of a shaft 24 carrying a stabilizing flywheel 25. Operation of a key 65 releases the key 58, so that the apparatus returns to the inoperative position. The keys 58, 65 may also be utilized to control the drive of the film and the recording apparatus.
