903,849. Photographic image transfer processes. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. July 5, 1960 [July 13, 1959], No. 23521/60. Class 98 (2). A base having a coating comprising a colloidal carrier, a water-soluble photopolymerizable monomeric compound containing a >C = C< group and a radiation sensitive silver compound is imagewise exposed, pressed into contact with a receiving sheet having a coating of zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, zirconium dioxide or silicon dioxide, after which the receiving sheet is separated and exposed to light, to produce a dark image therein from the transferred, unpolymerized coating portions. Eight examples describe the coating of a paper base with compositions including gelatin or polyvinyl alcohol as colloid, acrylamide or calcium acrylate as monomeric compounds and to which N,N<SP>1</SP>- methylenebis acrylamide is added as crosslinking agent, and the nitrate, acetate, citrate and chloride as silver compounds, mostly along with chrome alum and lauryl sulphonate as dispersing agent: receiving sheets in the examples are paper bases with gelatin and saponin to carry the oxides. Example VII uses benzotriazole to increase blackness of the transferred image. Repeated transfers may be made.
