Abstract

903,417. Control of A.C. motors. ELECTRONIC DIMMER CORPORATION. Dec. 4, 1959 [Dec. 8, 1958], No. 41283/59. Class 38 (3). [Also in Group XXXV] A control circuit for variably controlling an A.C. load 6 such as electric lamps or motors from an A.C. supply 5 comprises a pair of controllable semi-conductor rectifiers 7, 8 connected in reverse parallel switched by a magnetic amplifier 9 controlled from a potentiometer 34, 35 which variably energizes control windings 12, 13 acting in opposition to biasing windings 10, 11. A 3-phase arrangement may be employed by providing a plurality of amplifiers and rectifiers.
