Abstract
Light building panels are made by mixing wood wool with a bonding agent, feeding the material by a conveyer belt on to a weighing device from which it is distributed to continuously moving moulds, the speed of which is governed by the weighing device according to the weight of material, the material being concentrated at opposite sides of the mould. The material is then passed under a rotating cylinder formed with projecting spikes which comb the surface of the material in the moulds, and finally compressed between rollers and severed into panels. The means for effecting concentration of the material at opposite sides of the mould may be a shaped deflecting mem <PICT:0902995/IV(a)/1> <PICT:0902995/IV(a)/2> <PICT:0902995/IV(a)/3> ber against which the material is strewn by a distributer device, or it may be a pair of rotating cylinders. The moulds comprise a flat baseplate bordered by upstanding rim members.
